Green is as Green does…

Or are we too late?

Can any amount of effort on our behalf halt the ecological destruction of the Earth?

Or is it all a storm in a tea-cup?

I lived through the 70’s and 80’s and even the early 90’s when we were all worried about nuclear destruction. The cold war was worrisome, i used to have nightmares about waking up on my own and having to survive in a post war environment.

How different is Global Warming to the Cold War?

That’s the issue, the problem seems so big that most people don’t know how to deal with it…. it’s a global problem that needs to be dealt with regionally, yet who has the authority or ability or drive to do anything?

The result from Copenhagen tells me that our governments aren’t equiped <or willing> to tackle the issue.

The climate change unbelievers are able to capitalise on uncertainty and events like Copenhagen.

On the other hand the Transition Town people are saying it is not just about sustainability, it’s about resilience, if our towns and cities become more resilient everything else will fall into place.

But how does that work with our need for more electronic goodies, or our love affair with cars?

it’s a complex issue, and i still feel inadequate to the task of talking about it, because every time i do i feel i am missing something.

And that too is part of the problem.
